switzerland 2022

28 days. 7 resorts. swiss alps. skiing.

The title says it all. It was a trip that was flat-track, go, go, go. The views, the scenery, the alps, the après… it was nothing you could ever imagine.

I had the pleasure with travelling with one of my best mates to a country that has four national languages…. amid covid….

To make matters worse, we had no idea if we were even able to go 2 weeks before departure. We had to cancel all our hotel bookings because of a rise in Omicron cases, tripling by the day. It got to the point where Switzerland implemented a snap quarantine measure and all we could do was monitor the situation day by day. With a bit of luck… somehow… the quarantine measures where removed days later… it was hell of a rollercoaster experience and something I’m so glad we didn’t officially pull the trigger on not going anymore. I guess, the only silver lining, ironically, was that we had booked non-refundable flights…

Our travel dates were 26th of Dec 2021 - 23rd of Jan 2022.

  • 1st - 6th (Zermatt)

Check out the places that we visited below by clicking the buttons, It’s way too much to share here and within each place, you’ll find out a lil about my experience and a couple of my personal recommendations. FYI we brought our own skis with us, it was a mission to carry around to several resorts but it. allowed us to save on the rental costs. This also meant that we had to share one 30kg luggage between the two of us which… believe me that was not easy. 😬 We also survived off 2 meals a day…. so plan for this ahead of time if you don’t want to starve.
