italy 2019
🤌
Roman architecture is a work of art. Food is next level too. Everything you would expect Italy to be and much more.
We spent the first part of the trip in Rome and exploring the cathedrals and roman ruins. The Colosseum is a sight to behold and the scale of it is so much grander in person. We also did the other ‘touristy’ things such as visiting the Spanish steps, tour of the forum and other ruins, Caesar’s tomb, Vatican city and much more. Do spend a couple days doing all of this.
We then headed to Capri and this was definitely a highlight. Capri is breathtaking, both from the views of the water and the food. From here, we visited Anacapri, Positano and Sorrento. Make sure to try the limoncello while you are here. My recommendation here is to explore and not necessarily do the ‘touristy’ things. While in Capri, go to Villa Jovis for dinner. This is still the best seafood I have eaten to date and I won’t stop raving about it anytime soon.
After Capri, we headed up to Bologna for a night before Venice. As per the name itself, this is the home of bolognese, and that did not disappoint. A great little town that has a strong cultural scene. Worth spending a couple days exploring here and eating away.
Venice was our last stop in Italy. A town literally built on water. It’s everything I ever imagined from watching Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie in the Tourist. Note that there isn’t too much to do in Venice so a couple days is perfect. We day tripped to Burano - a little village that is known for its vibrant colours. This is a must when you come here.

Come here for dinner. This place is incredible. The best seafood I have ever eaten anywhere. Fresh and delicious. Also comes with a view of the marine.

burano
Visit Burano while in Venice! About a 30 minute water bus ride from the centre of Venice, this small town is covered in colourful houses. A beautiful sight and perfect for photos.
